Statement from Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle on Marriage Equality Legislation

Statement from Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle on Marriage Equality Legislation“I applaud the members of the Illinois Senate for taking the first step towards marriage equality in our state. Gay and lesbian couples deserve full recognition of their relationships.  Couples who are in loving, committed relationships should be able to marry and be treated equally in the eye of the law.

I congratulate Senator Heather Steans for her tireless leadership on this issue. I urge the House to pass this landmark legislation.”

I’m glad the people in this world worry more about gay marriages than marijuana …pot helps sick people and so fourth but we can’t have it ….and then taxes on smokes go up anther dollar….why should citizens constantly be ripped off by there government ,while board members such as yourselves make a great salary…you guys are the biggest rip to the foreign people who migrate to the u.s …I can’t help also to say you guys can’t manage your own budget ….I mean come on you guys are college educated and still don’t know how to do your jobs…as far as gun control it is are god given right to posses firearms to protect are selves and loved ones….only a conservative closes minded people such as yourselves would be so opposed to such a act….who the f votes these morons in office ? I bet you have no life that really helps people ,but you more or less do this to help yourselves and own interests ….I hate Chicago for everything it stands for….esp people in office…in the long run karma will bite you hard….u people are pathetic
