Proposed Business Case: Public Park - Developer Model

Warren Park Fieldhouse

Warren Park is a 90 acre park in Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood. It is the largest park in the North Region of the Chicago Park District and offers a variety of recreational and athletic resources and programs for community residents. The fieldhouse is a single story structure with a new, flat roof and more than 27,500 SF of useable roof space. There is also a 1.4 acre parking lot that offers an opportunity for solar carports.

By combining rooftop and carport solar, this project can accommodate a 534 kW system. With low-income households making up 46 percent of the surrounding community, the project can target these households and take advantage of higher incentives. Adding carports, however, brings up costs and lowers returns for the developer. The Chicago Park District would help the developer with customer acquisition.
