The Northwest Water Commission was formed in 1957 (formed under another name and renamed in the early 1980’s to the NWC) to provide its member municipalities of Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Palatine and Wheeling with potable water. No unincorporated areas are served.

Six (6) years (Cook County President Appointee Only)

Confirmation

Member Commissioners are appointed by their respective municipalities

Compensation

The Commissioners serve without compensation

Qualifications

Resident or Village Manager of the Member Village.
For the County, a resident of the County

Composition

Four (4)  Commissioners each appointed by the President and Board of the Member Village.
One Commissioner Appointed by the President of the Cook County Board on the advice and consent of the County Board of Commissioners.
