Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle Welcomes Kimberly Foxx as a New Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Planning

Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle is pleased to welcome Kimberly Foxx as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Planning. Foxx is a seasoned juvenile justice prosecutor with 15 years of experience conducting trials, managing teams of attorneys and developing partnerships with civic and advocacy organizations. She was most recently supervising attorney in the juvenile justice bureau of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. “Kimberly has an extensive criminal justice background, including stints in the State’s Attorney’s felony review, sex crimes and child protection divisions. She is an essential addition to my administration,” President Preckwinkle said. “Public safety makes up a significant portion of the County’s budget and focus. I expect Kimberly’s general management and operational skills will help us enact crucial criminal justice reforms.” Foxx oversaw a process to modernize the courts and implement systemic reform within the Circuit Court of Cook County. She served as a key member of a commission that drafted criminal justice reforms focused on alternatives to incarceration for adults within the court system. She also was a 2009 Leadership Greater Chicago Fellow. “With Ms. Foxx’s coming on board, we have now rounded out a robust executive team to further implement President Preckwinkle’s agenda of fiscal responsibility, innovative leadership, transparency and accountability, and improved services,” Chief of Staff G.A. Finch said.
