Visions of Justice: Experiences of the System
Cook County has launched an art content for individuals who have been impacted by the local criminal legal system. This contest is part of a larger initiative to document justice reform efforts in Cook County over the last decade. The Visions of Justice Art Contest will showcase the perspectives of people with experiences of the system.

Who can apply?
Anyone with lived experience in the Cook County adult criminal legal system including: Being held in jail, Paying a money bond or Other direct experiences with the system.
What to Submit
Artwork should reflect your person experience with Cook County's adult criminal legal system

Apply
Artists will apply via an online submission form that collects general information about the artist and the artwork.
Artists are required to upload photos of the work.

If you are selected...
- 20 finalists will be invited to exhibit their work at a public showcase
- 10 works will be selected and the artists will receive a $1,000 award
- At least 1 award recipient will be a participant from Cook County Jail
- Selected artwork will be permanently exhibited in a Cook County facility and will become part of the Cook County Safety and Justice Archive that documents local justice reform efforts.
