Cook County Board Approves Funding to Improve Transportation Throughout Cook County
COOK COUNTY, IL—The Cook County Board of Commissioners approved planning, design and construction contracts today to continue the pipeline of transportation-related projects for the County’s Department of Transportation and Highways (DoTH). These vital projects advance multi-modal projects throughout Cook County to improve state of good repair, operations, safety and support the regional economy.
Bellwood| $410,000
Construction for the Congress Street and Van Buren Street roadway improvement project, aimed at improving roadway pavement, curb areas, sidewalks and off-street parking along Congress Street and Van Buren Street.
Hillside | $203,904
Design engineering services for the Taft Avenue corridor mobility improvements projects, including the addition of on-street marked bicycle lanes, ADA-compliant crosswalks and sidewalks, roadway resurfacing and new and upgraded lighting along the corridor to enhance mobility, safety and connectivity along Taft Avenue from Butterfield Road to Electric Avenue.
Maywood| $410,000
Construction for ADA curb ramp improvements along Randolph Street to enhance pedestrian mobility, safety and accessibility and to improve intersection safety for all users.
