Cook County Board Approves Funding to Improve Transportation Throughout Cook County
The Cook County Board of Commissioners approved planning, design and construction contracts this week to continue the pipeline of transportation-related projects for the County’s Department of Transportation and Highways (DoTH). These vital projects advance multi-modal projects throughout Cook County to improve state of good repair, operations, safety and support the regional economy.
Countywide | $1,305,533
Preventive maintenance services which provide crack sealing on county roadways to extend the useful life of the roadway.
Countywide | $2,000,000
Drainage engineering services consisting of drainage-related reviews of County Highway Permit applications and project plans, reports and studies; drainage investigations; environmental permitting; and maintenance and monitoring of wetland and riparian mitigation sites at various locations throughout the County.
Deerfield, Northbrook and Palatine | $1,190,562
Preliminary engineering and environmental (Phase I) study to support replacing the decks of three bridges on Lake Cook Road: Lake Cook Road Bridge over the slough, Lake Cook Road Bridge over the Canadian National Railway and Lake Cook Road Bridge over the Middle Fork North Branch Chicago River in the Villages of Deerfield, Northbrook and Palatine.
Mount Prospect | $408,748
Construction including resurfacing of Lonnquist Boulevard, installation of street lighting, installation of emergency vehicle preemption systems on traffic signals, installation of a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon and enhancements, such as brick pavers, at the northeast corner of Central Road and Busse Road.
Northern Cook County | $415,250
Bituminous and prime coat materials for partial and full depth pavement patches and pothole patching in the summer months to maintain a safe riding surface for vehicular traffic in the two northern maintenance districts of Cook County.
Palatine | $191,733
Design engineering, construction and construction engineering to fill sidewalk gaps along the east and west sides of Quentin Road.
