Cook County Board Approves Funding to Improve Transportation Throughout Cook County

The Cook County Board of Commissioners approved planning, design and construction contracts today to continue the pipeline of transportation-related projects for the County’s Department of Transportation and Highways (DoTH). These vital projects advance multi-modal projects throughout Cook County to improve state of good repair, operations, safety and support the regional economy.

Rehabilitation of six bridges: Steger Road over Deer Creek in the Villages of Crete and Steger; Olympian Way over Butterfield Creek in the Village of Olympia Fields; 170th Street over I-94 in the Village of South Holland; Thornton Road over Midlothian Creek in the City of Blue Island; Cottage Grove Avenue over Deer Creek in the Village of Sauk Village and Central Avenue over Tinley Creek in the Village of Crestwood.

Construction and construction engineering services for pavement patching and resurfacing projects on multiple roadway corridors in southern Cook County. Locations include: 80th Avenue/Roberts Road from 131st Street to College Drive in the City of Palos Heights, Palos Township and the Village of Palos Park; Wolf Road from Forest Woods Drive to German Church Road in the Village of Willow Springs; 86th Avenue/88th Avenue from 111th Street to 103rd Street in the City of Palos Hills; 131st Street from Bell Road to LaGrange Road in Lemont Township and the Villages of Lemont, Orland Park and Palos Park and 104th Avenue from 131st Street to 107th Street in Palos Township.
