Dr. Ramanathan Raju, M.D. and CEO of Cook County Health & Hostptals System was named one of 50 Most Influential Physician Executives in Healthcare. Prior to accepting the CEO role at CCHHS, Dr. Raju served as HHC’s Executive Vice President for Medical and Professional Affairs in New York. He also served as chief medical officer of Coney Island Hospital and assumed the additional responsibilities of chief operating officer in 2005.
Dr. Raju trained in India, England and the United States and has a long and distinguished career as a board-certified surgeon and has held faculty positions at a variety of institutions.
