Property Tax Tracker

Property Tax System Progress Tracker

The Office of the President created this webpage and tracker for the public to follow the status of the Integrated Property Tax System (IPTS) upgrades. It is designed for people to publicly monitor, and hold accountable the shared commitment by Tyler Technologies and each of the Property Tax Stakeholders (Offices of the Cook County AssessorClerk and Treasurer) to successfully upgrade to a new property tax computer system to fulfill their collective fiduciary responsibilities to bill, collect and distribute more than $18 billion annually in Cook County funding for vital services such as schools, libraries, municipalities and park districts.

Now that much of IPTS is live and in use as of April 2026, status reports are now weekly instead of daily.

Each report will include updates on three workstreams:

  • The Project Workstream addresses items outstanding in the project schedule upon Go-Live that are not yet live in production. “Production,” in this context, means the version of the system that employees will use on a day-to-day basis, as opposed to versions of the system used only for testing. This workstream tracks the status of fully unmet requirements and defects blocking new functionalities from entering the production system.
  • The Production Workstream addresses defects, scope items and enhancements related to functionalities that are fully or partially operational in production. "Scope," in this context, means the mutually agreed-upon list of features and functions the system is supposed to deliver.
  • The Clerk Redemptions Workstream tracks all activities required in order for the County Clerk’s redemptions functionality to go live in production.

This updated format will allow the County to maintain transparency and keep stakeholders meaningfully informed on the status of critical processes and upcoming milestones while staying consistent with current project schedules.

“Cook County is committed to transparency and accountability, especially when it comes to vital services funded by our property tax system. This new webpage will allow residents and anyone following the work of the County and its separately elected property tax offices, to see progress as well as responsibilities, deadlines met and missed and more to help ensure all parties remain focused on bringing this project to the finish line.”

– Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle
