Operation Green Light for Veterans

Service Information

Cook County is proud to take part in the annual Operation Green Light, a national initiative honoring the service and sacrifice of veterans. In partnership with local communities, CCVA encourages residents and businesses to display a green light during the week prior to Veterans Day as a visible show of support to our veteran community. This simple gesture shines a light on the invaluable contributions of veterans and their families, while reminding them that their service is seen, appreciated and never forgotten.

CCVA invites all Cook County residents, businesses and government agencies to join us. Light up your home, office or community space in green and share your photos on social media using #OperationGreenLightCookCounty to spread awareness and show our veterans they are not alone.

OPERATION GREENLIGHT 2025

From Nov. 4 to 11, 2025, Cook County joined counties across the nation to participate in Operation Green Light for Veterans. Cook County administrative buildings were illuminated in green throughout the week leading up to Veterans Day to honor the courage, service and sacrifice of our nation’s veterans.
