Grant Applicants (2023 CDBG & ESG)
Summary
Each year, the Bureau of Economic Development (BED) partners with the Department of Planning and Development (DPD) to solicit grant applications for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) Programs funding through a competitive process.
Program Year 2023
The 2023 CDBG Programs Capital Improvement (Demolition and Economic Development), Public Service (Planning) and ESG applications are now.
Application submissions will be handled via an online submission process. The link to the CDBG Capital Improvement, Public Service, Capital Improvement and ESG grant submission pages are below:

2023 CDBG Capital Improvement, Economic Development and Demolition Grant Application
CDBG Capital Improvement and Public Service applications are due by 5:00pm on March 17, 2023.
Important Notice: CDBG Non-profits may apply for one CDBG Capital Improvement project and one CDBG Public Service/Planning project. Otherwise, there is a limit of one funding application per agency.
Webinar materials for February 1, 2023
Cook County’s BED/DPD in conjunction with the Department of Transportation and Highways will host a virtual “Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)” and “Invest in Cook” application webinar, for potential applicants on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 for 1:00pm to 4:00pm - Click to register. The primary focus of the webinars will be to provide program compliance guidelines along with detailed information on applying for the grants.
