Health and Benefits Literacy

Health literacy is important.  We all need to be able to understand and use health information to make informed decisions. Taking care of our health is part of everyday life, not just when we visit a doctor, clinic, or hospital. Health literacy can help us prevent health problems and protect our health, as well as better manage those problems and unexpected situations that happen. Benefits plan are more effective when members understand the inner workings of a health plan and how to get the most out of the coverage.
